Kerrie Hayes – Esther Price
BAFTA-nominated Kerrie Hayes has appeared in films including Sam Taylor Woods’s Nowhere Boy and Lindy Heymann’s Kicks, in which she played the lead role of Nicole. In 2009 she was chosen for the Trailblazer showcase, an annual initiative at the Edinburgh International Film Festival highlighting new talent, for her role in Kicks. Other credits include Channel 4’s Black Mirror and BBC One’s Good Cop.
Matthew McNulty – Daniel Bate
Matthew McNulty is best known for his portrayals of David Smith in the BAFTA award-winning See No Evil: The Moors Murders, and BAFTA and RTS award-winning The Mark of Cain, in which he played the lead Shane Gulliver. He also appeared in popular BBC drama The Paradise and the BAFTA award-winning Misfits. Feature films include Dominic Savage’s Love + Hate and Anton Corbijn’s multi award-winning Ian Curtis biopic Control. He recently played Jem Merlyn in the BBC’s adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's gothic novel Jamaica Inn.
Sacha Parkinson – Miriam Catterall
Sacha played the role of Sian Powers in Coronation Street between 2009 and 2011. She has recently appeared as Stacey Stringfellow in the second series of My Mad Fat Diary on E4 and as Kate in BBC Three’s The Crash. Further credits include Survivors, Shameless, The Street and the feature film A Boy Called Dad. Sacha has recently finished filming The Driver, a three part series for the BBC, in which she plays Katie. Sacha has also appeared in the BBC series Truckers as Suzy, the BBC series By Any Means as Kimberley and the BBC sitcom pilot Homeboys as Janine. She has just joined the cast of Mr Selfridge as Connie Hawkins.
Holly Lucas – Susannah Bate
Holly Lucas played Martha Hope on Holby City from 2006 until 2009. Previously she played the role of Megan Boothe in Where the Heart Is. Other TV appearances include Inspector George Gently, Doctors, City of Vice and Peak Practice. Holly’s film credits include Terms of Love, Skyline and Hepzibah. She also had a guest role in feature film Bronson, starring Tom Hardy, and has appeared in a number of stage productions.
Barbara Marten – Hannah Greg
Barbara Marten is a familiar face on British television screens, portraying Eve Montgomery on Casualty, and more recently appearing in Whitechapel, Waking the Dead, The Street, Kidnap and Ransom, Goldplated, and as Jean Winters in Frankie.
Andrew-Lee Potts – William Greg
Andrew-Lee Potts has a range of TV credits including Dracula, Primeval, Doc Martin and George Gently. His film work also includes roles in The Hatching, and a variety of shorts including Ideal Wife, Drone Strike, Little Larry and Stolen Light. Theatre credits include Dracula at the Leicester Square Theatre and Macbeth as part of the Bristol Old Vic and tour.
Mark Frost – John Howlett
Mark Frost has worked extensively in television, theatre and film. He is currently filming the BBC remake of Poldark. His most recent TV credits include Jonathan Creek and Law & Order: UK. He was a regular role on Hope Springs, Brookside, and The Bill, and was part of the original cast of Doctors. His recent theatre work includes a double bill of two-handers at the Salisbury Playhouse in The Yalta Game/Elegy For A Lady, Berkoff's Oedipus in the US, and a world arena tour of Batman as the Joker.
Laura Main – Rebecca Howlett
Laura Main is currently filming the fourth season of Call The Midwife having appeared in the previous three series. Other TV credits include Father Brown, Monarch of the Glen, Murder City (Series I-II) and The Forsyte Saga. Theatre credits include: Company (Southwark Playhouse), State Fair (Trafalgar Studios), As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet (Regent’s Park) and Alice in Wonderland (RSC).
Ewan Phillips – Timothy Howlett
Ewan is 10-years-old and represented by Scream Management. He trains at Little Stars Stage School. When he isn't performing on TV or Theatre, he loves playing Cricket, Rugby and Football and Musical Theatre. Ewan has previously appeared in Rocket's Island (TV), as well as Peter Pan, Oliver and Annie on stage.
Joshua Isherwood – Jack Howlett
Joshua Isherwood is making his debut on The Mill in his first main acting role. Joshua is a keen hip-hop dancer, drummer and attends the ‘Carol Godby Theatre Workshop’ on a weekly basis.
Mark Strepan – Will Whittaker
Mark Strepan graduated from Oxford School of Drama last year and went on to film the feature, Northmen: A Viking Saga, due for release later this year. This is his TV debut. Theatre work includes Tu i Teraz (Hampstead Theatre).
Dave Hill – Abe Whittaker
Dave Hill has appeared in The Full Monty, as well as many other TV series and films. He is best known for playing Bert Atkinson in EastEnders from 2006 to 2007. Other credits include Skins, Vera, Wallander, Psychoville, and Peter Greenaway’s cult feature film The Draughtsman’s Contract.
Sope Dirisu – Peter Gardener
Sope Dirisu has recently completed filming on both the award-winning Channel 4 series Utopia as well as the second series of The Mill. This follows his work with the National Youth Theatre.
Justin Salinger – James Windell
Justin began his theatrical career at the National Theatre performing as Frankie in the original production of Dealer’s Choice directed by Patrick Marber. Television credits include Ripper Street series 2, Dracula for Sky Living opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and The 7:39 for BBC. Other credits include Being Human, New Tricks, Casualty, Whistleblowers, Doc Martin, Foyles War, Waking The Dead, The Vice, He Kills Coppers, Murphy's Law and London's Burning amongst others. His film credits due for release this year include, Robot Overlords directed by Jon Wright with Gillian Anderson and Ben Kingsley, and We Are Monster directed by Antony Petrou. He has most recently wrapped on Everest for Working Title opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Jason Clarke.
Morgan Watkins – George Windell
Morgan Watkins has a variety of TV credits including as a series regular in the second season of The Hour, as well as appearing in Doomed Youth, Boom (Pilot), and guest lead roles in Inspector George Gently and Silk. Recent films that Watkins has appeared in include Suffragette, The Secret Service and Shadow Dancer. Theatre credits include Desire Under the Elms, Saved and The Poetry of Dan Brown.
Aidan McArdle – John Doherty
Aidan McArdle trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He has starred in Hollywood films such as The Duchess and Me and Orson Welles, and his TV credits include Garrow’s Law, The Mill, Quirke and Mr Selfridge. He played the title role in the RSC’s Richard III, won the TMA award for best supporting actor in Democracy for the Old Vic and was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance in The Shadow of a Gunman at The Tricycle.
Katherine Rose Morley – Lucy Garner
Katherine Rose Morley starred in The Week before Christmas for Sky1, and Love Matters: 30 & Counting for Sky Living. For theatre, she has starred in Kathy Burke’s production of Once a Catholic at London’s Tricycle Theatre and the Finborough’s production of Khadija is 18, directed by Tim Stark. She has just finished filming for Series 5 of Vera for ITV, in which she plays the guest lead, and Simon Powell’s film The Caravan, released later this year. Katherine is about to start shooting for Series 3 of BBC’s Last Tango in Halifax, directed by Euros Lyn, having previously starred in Series 2, playing series regular Ellie. She attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she won the Prestigious Gold Award.
Shannon Metcalfe – Mary-Ann Murphy
Shannon Metcalfe secured a role in The Mill, Series 2, after several years at theatre workshops and performances at The Liverpool Empire. Metcalfe has also had several modeling contracts with a career in acting being the natural next step.
Holly Kenny – Patience Dunn
Holly Kenny is recognisable as a regular for four series on the BBC’s Waterloo Road. Recent projects alongside The Mill include Key Mellor’s new series In the Club. Kenny also played the title role in Abi Morgan’s White Girl, which was nominated for the BAFTA Television Award for Best Single Drama in 2009.
Vicky Binns – Martha Price
Vicky Binns is a familiar face on British TV screens through her roles on both Emmerdale and Coronation Street in which she played Molly Compton. Other TV credits include Children’s Ward and Nature Boy. Binns has also appeared regularly in theatre including Alfie, Dave and Jeff, Teechers and most recently A Kind of Loving at the Theatre Royal.
