Celebrity Coach Trip
Category: News ReleaseTX: Weekdays from Monday 10th October, 5pm, Channel 4
Celebrity Coach Trip is back this autumn for a second series with legendary tour guide Brendan Sheerin and ten new famous faces, all set for a two-week romp around the Mediterranean.
And this time round Brendan will really have his work cut out as the celebs promise to be wackier than ever, with an ex MP, an X-Factor finalist, a former TV entertainer and Big Brother alumni comprising this series' eclectic bunch.
Kicking off on the French Riviera before heading to Tuscany, Florence and finally Rome, the celebrity tourists will experience all the sights and sounds of the Continent. And along the way, they will take part in activities ranging from snowboarding in the Alps and busking on the beaches of Cannes, to white-water rafting in Corsica and diving in Livorno, Italy.
As in previous Coach Trip series, the celebs will only get to keep on enjoying the trip as long as they remain popular with their fellow passengers, as every day ends in the dreaded yellow card vote. Two yellow cards and the celebs have to pack their designer luggage and head home, to be replaced by new famous faces.
Expect thrills and spills as well as jaw-dropping tantrums, backstabbing and arguments aplenty as fragile egos get a knocking at the daily votes, before one celebrity pair are voted winners at the end of the series.
The First Five Celebrity Pairs
Big Brother buddies Brian Belo and Spencer Smith
Brian and Spencer both came to fame during their stints in the Big Brother house in 2007 and 2002. While Brian took home the winning prize, Spencer was dubbed, to this day, as the best-looking male housemate ever. Their success in the house lead to a series of television appearances, but will these reality TV aficionados be as successful on the Coach?
Partners Gary Cockerill and Phil Turner
Gary and Phil are best known for being showbiz pals with Katie Price, with Gary being her long-term makeup artist. His celebrity clientele also include Reese Witherspoon and Robbie Williams, while DIY-expert Phil first found fame on the Big Breakfast after winning Builder of the Week. With both used to living the high life, how will they cope with the less than glamorous conditions on the coach?
Former WAG Lizzie Cundy and model Emma B
These two glamorous girls certainly aren't camera shy, having made careers based on their good looks - Emma famously modelled for Prada and Lizzie for Jasper Conran. And with presenting gigs and numerous reality TV appearances under their belts, they'll certainly be ones to watch out for on the trip.
Friends Michael Barrymore and Maurice Leonard
Former TV entertainer Michael and TV producer Maurice have been friends for over 20 years since meeting on Strike it Lucky. While Maurice found success behind the screen, Michael went from Butlins Redcoat to one of the 90's highest paid TV personalities. After a few turbulent years, Michael staged a TV come back finishing as runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006. But how will he fare this time round?
Ex WAG Alex Best and Ex MP Lembit Opik
These two are best known for their former careers - for Alex, being married to football legend George Best, and for Lembit, being a member of parliament and dating a Cheeky Girl. Since then both have been making careers for themselves on the reality TV circuit, with varying degrees of success. Can they end their losing streak on the Coach?
Also hopping on board throughout the series will be...
Horse racing pundit and self-confessed misogynist John McCririck and his wife Jenny McCririck - aka ‘Booby'; comediennes Sandra Dickinson and Helen Lederer; comedy legend Stan Boardman and his TV presenter daughter Andrea Boardman; and finally X Factor finalist Wagner and Britain's Got Talent duo Stavros Flatley.
