Channel 4 announces a host of winter delights
Category: News ReleaseIt's winter. It's night for roughly 25-hours-a-day, and (in these days of global warming) the temperature gauge has plunged to only 18 degrees centigrade.
What a fantastic time of year! Never is there a better excuse to curl up in front of the telly with a remote control and a day-long supply of crisps and cakes (sorry, Jamie, we mean healthy and inspiring snacks).
The remote control, incidentally, is only necessary for flipping between the Channel 4 stable of stations. Where else would you need to go? We've got factual fascination such as Make Bradford British; TV to tempt the tastebuds courtesy of Heston Blumenthal and The Fabulous Baker Boys; some top Gok action as he looks into mass production in China; and Mary Portas setting up her own knicker factory.
There's a chance to get up close and personal with some trainers in The Body Shop, and there will be another round of Gypsy Weddings to celebrate. Jack Whitehall will be hitting the road in his new comedy series, and the tension will be unbearable as The Bank Job hits the screens.
Mix with the best US imports, including Zooey Deschanel in New Girl, and Claire Daines and Damien Lewis in Homeland, and throw in some Channel 4 figures as you've never seen them before in January's brilliant Channel 4 Mash Up. Finally, add a dollop of E4, in the form of Skins and Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy, and you won't even need to leave the sofa until spring. Apart from to use the loo. Please.
