Channel 4 announces long-running property documentary from Boomerang

Channel 4 has today announced the commission of Farmhouse Fit for a Prince (w/t), which is being made by Boomerang, part of Twofour Group.

 

The programme offers behind-the-scenes access to building conservation charity the Landmark Trust as it tackles the extraordinary rescue of a medieval house in the dramatic surroundings of the Black Mountains in Wales. The grade 1 listed house, built some 500 years ago, is one of the finest medieval houses in Wales and was the most important ‘at risk’ inhabited building in the country. The two-part programme will follow its stunning transformation from a collapsing near-ruin into a fully restored masterpiece available to everyone to rent. Filming has been taking place on the programme for over three years.

 

Historian and Director of the Landmark Trust, Dr Anna Keay will be joined by John Evetts, Head of Furnishing as they coordinate the epic restoration and experience all of the architectural triumphs and challenges that come with a project of this magnitude. The house previously appeared, unrestored, on Channel 4 series, Restoring Britain’s Landmarks; the completion of its restoration was marked by a visit from HRH the Prince of Wales on Thursday 5th July 2018.
