Channel 4 appoints Controller of Business Affairs

Channel 4 today announces the appointment of John Moran to the newly created role of Controller of Business Affairs.

John will report into Martin Baker, Director of Commercial Affairs following his promotion to the Channel 4 executive team. He will be responsible for leading Channel 4’s Senior Business Affairs Managers and their respective teams. He will work closely with Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt and the broadcaster’s Commissioning team, and alongside Controller of Legal & Compliance Prash Naik.

John joins Channel 4 from the BBC where he held the position of Head of Legal, Commercial and Business Affairs, Audio and Music for the past six years. An Oxford and Berkeley Universities law graduate, John began his career as a Barrister in London before becoming a Legal Advisor within HM Treasury and then joining the BBC in 1999 where he progressed from Legal Advisor in the Regulatory team, to Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager, Factual & Learning, Events & BBC News, before securing his most recent position.
