Channel 4 appoints Grace Boswood as Technology Director

Channel 4 today announced that Grace Boswood has been appointed as its new Technology Director.

Reporting to Jonathan Allan, Chief Operating Officer, Grace will play a vital role in aligning Channel 4’s technology investment with its Future4 strategy. She will lead on the delivery of new systems and partnerships, the integration of technology into all areas of the business and focus on Channel 4’s ongoing digital transformation and future growth agenda.

Grace will join Channel 4 from the BBC where she is currently the Chief Operating Officer of its design and engineering department and leads the delivery of strategic projects with the technology and digital teams, a post she has held for over five years.

She has previously worked in the BBC’s Future Media department leading business operations and in the BBC’s strategy team, having joined the BBC from Human Capital, a media strategy and research consultancy.

She brings a wealth of leadership, strategy and digital experience to our technology division which will be key to ensuring we successfully deliver our ambitious Future4 strategy, focusing on prioritising digital growth, putting viewers at the heart of decision making, diversifying revenue streams and building strategic partnerships.”

Grace said: “Channel 4 is a brand I have loved since my teenage years, and I believe in the power of technology to be a driving force behind the Future4 strategy. I am thrilled to be joining at this pivotal time for the business and further accelerating its move to digital.”

Grace will join Channel 4 on 14th September, and Interim Technology Director, David Gibbons, will step down later this autumn.
