Channel 4 appoints Isaac Densu to new Shorts Commissioning Editor role

Category: News Release

Channel 4 today announced it has appointed Isaac Densu to a newly created Commissioning Editor role for the broadcaster’s digital Shorts channel.

Reporting to Richard Davidson-Houston, Channel 4’s Head of All 4 and Digital Content, Isaac will be responsible for commissioning original Shorts for All 4, Channel 4’s new flagship digital proposition, due to launch soon.

Channel 4’s Shorts span a range of genres and subjects from comedy to gaming, from lifestyle and food to future trends, as well as the simply bizarre – building upon the success of recent Shorts hits such as Tattoo Twists, Taxi Gags and Craic Addicts. Shorts appeal to a young, mobile audience who enjoy high quality, entertaining videos when they only have time for a five minute fix.

As well as commissioning Channel 4 funded Shorts, Isaac will also work on brand-funded Shorts commissions, alongside Channel 4 Sales’ Partnerships team, following the success of Educating Binky in partnership with Rimmel London, Home Truths in partnership with British Gas, and Passion For Life in partnership with Alfa Romeo.

Isaac was previously development producer at Little Dot Studios where he worked on long and short formats, including content for Channel 4’s Shorts. Before that he held various content and talent development roles at The Talent Channels JV Entrago and diverse independent production companies including Lemonade Money and Yalli Productions.

Richard Davidson-Houston said: “Isaac has a strong track record in developing creative digital content and for finding and nurturing hard-to-reach talent. We’re really excited to have him on board to grow our Shorts portfolio and to help build All 4’s reputation as more than just a catch-up service.”

Isaac said: “I’m looking forward to joining Channel 4’s well-respected team. The Shorts brief is inspiring and I’m super excited to be working with talented indies and helping to discover the next generation of emergent creative talent to create cutting edge digital content which will be fun, engaging – and highly binge-able! “

Isaac will join Channel 4 from February 2015.
