Channel 4 appoints new Digital Commissioner

Channel 4 has appointed Charlie Hyland as Digital Commissioner focused on comedy, reporting into Head of Digital Commissioning, Sacha Khari. Hyland was most recently Series Producer on E4 shows, Pete and Sam’s Reality News and Married at First Sight UK Spin off show, Afters, as well as Series Development Producer on, Haks World for the BBC.
When he joins Channel 4 in this new role, Hyland will have a remit to commission and deliver a slate of digital-first comedy and entertainment content, targeting new and wider audiences from niche to mainstream, and working with suppliers to create distinctive comedy suitable for all social platforms.
Hyland has also worked as a producer and development producer and other recent notable credits include: The last Leg (Channel 4), The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan (Channel4), Home Alone with Joel Dommett (ITV), The Big Narstie Show (Channel 4) and Comedy Games Night (Comedy Central).
Prior to that, Hyland has worked in a range of production roles on shows including, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Dinner Date, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, Stand up to Cancer and Pride of Britain Awards.

Charlie Hyland will join Channel 4 in December.
