Category: News Release

Mothership Productions have been commissioned to make a 6x60 format exploring the global obesity crisis. This warm – but shocking - series will involve Brits who want to lose weight travelling the world to better understand the relationship between food, culture and body size, and in the process see if they can lose weight along the way.

Mothership was launched this summer by Kelly Webb-Lamb, Gilly Greenslade and Charlotte Desai. The trio have created, produced or commissioned numerous global formats including Bake Off, The Dog House, The Apprentice, Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds, Hunted and The Undateables.

The series has been commissioned by Alisa Pomeroy and Madonna Benjamin of the C4 documentaries department.

Alisa Pomeroy,  Head of Documentaries said: “‘global obesity is one of the unseen world-wide crises of our time, and we are delighted to be working with Mothership on their first commission for Documentaries,  tackling such an important topic.”

Gilly Greenslade, Director of Programmes at Mothership Productions Ltd said of the show, “We are really excited to be working with the c4 docs dept on a show that takes a fresh and revealing approach to a really big subject all over the world”
