Channel 4 commissions "Kirstie and Phil: Holidays Uncovered"
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4 features has commissioned a brand new series fronted by Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer which will see the duo explore the very best holiday deals on offer - whatever the budget - offering viewers practical advice and inspiration for booking their next trip.
Kirstie and Phil: Holidays Uncovered, made by the pair's production company Raise the Roof, will take on all manner of holidays, from budget trips to bijou hotels and grand offerings, Phil and Kirstie will uncover where there's great value for money to be found and where holiday makers are being ripped off.
In each episode they will be hitting one destination and and explore all it has to offer. But while one of them will be given an eye-boggling budget, the other will have to make do with pennies, and they both have to devise a holiday to match their respective budgets, sourcing activities, meals and accommodation.
Kirstie and Phil will give honest and thorough reviews of the deals they come across and at the end of each episode they will have to decide which holiday was better, the budget or the blow-out.
Deputy Head of Features, Andrew Jackson, said: "From cheap boutique hotels in the Med to the most expensive of cruises, Kirstie and Phil will be checking out whether holiday makers get true value for money, and inspire viewers to make their two weeks in the sun a whole lot brighter."
Kirstie Allsopp said: "Phil and I are really looking forward to revealing how to have a fantastic holiday whatever your budget. For the last ten years we have travelled up and down the UK staying in every sort of accommodation, now the time has come to put that experience to good use and travel further afield to find fun and good value for everyone."
Sarah Walmsley, Creative Director of Raise the Roof, added: "This is such an exciting first commission for Raise the Roof. Now more than ever we all need a bit of escapism in our lives so the timing couldn't be better for the renaissance of the travel show - and who better to bring it back to our screens than Kirstie and Phil?"
The series will air on Channel 4 in 2011.
