Channel 4 delivers new series of One Born Every Minute

Category: News Release

The latest instalment of Channel 4’s BAFTA-award winning documentary series, One Born Every Minute, returns for a new series on Monday 24 February at 9pm.

Now in its fifth series, over 100 babies have been born on camera since One Born Every Minute first aired in 2010. The 150th baby will be born this series.

The new series was filmed in the West Country’s busiest maternity unit, Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Previous series have been filmed in Southampton and Leeds.

The series opens with the stories of three sets of parents-to-be including an expectant father who runs the risk of missing his daughter’s birth, a dad who is giving up the fast life for family life, and one of the midwifery team is on hand to help her childhood friend and neighbor through an emotional labour.  Everyone’s working to stay calm, until an evacuation crisis arises, just as some of the ladies are arriving to deliver.
