Channel 4 has commissioned independent production company Dragonfly to make a fifth series of BAFTA-winning One Born Every Minute.

The popular observational documentary series set in a maternity ward is moving from Leeds General Infirmary to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, and will be made by Dragonfly West for the first time. It will also use Evolutions newly-opened Bristol office for post-production.

Production on the series has started with filming due to take place in the autumn before being broadcast in early 2014.

Channel 4 has ordered 20 episodes of the documentary series, up from its current run of 14 hour-long programmes.

One Born Every Minute will again by executive produced by Madonna Benjamin for Channel 4.

Madonna Benjamin said: "One Born is a much-loved Channel 4 programme and we're delighted to be moving to a new part of the country, after two brilliant series in Leeds."

Amy Joyce, Series Producer, adds "We are very excited about making the series in Bristol, and look forward to working with the excellent staff and parents-to-be at Southmead Hospital."

The first series of One Born Every Minute was broadcast in 2010 and won a BAFTA for best factual series the following year.
