Channel 4 named Best Channel by Televisual

This Is England '86 won two awards.

Channel 4 scooped seven gongs at the Televisual Bulldog Awards including Best Channel and Best in Show for My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

Voted for by readers of Televisual it is the third year in a row that Channel 4 has been named Best Channel.

Channel 4 also took home Bulldogs in five  other categories. This is England '86 followed up recent BAFTA success by claiming the award for Drama one-off or serial, with two other Chanel 4 shows, Mo and Any Human Heart, finishing as runners up. Shane Meadows' drama made it a double success by taking home the award for best Music as well.

E4's hugely successful The Inbetweeners was named best Comedy, and the ever-popular Come Dine with Me scooped the award for Factual Entertainment.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, the one-off doc that sparked the sensational series, won best Single Documentary and the coveted Best In Show category.

As well as the seven category wins, Channel 4 programmes scored three second places and four thirds.

The Televisual Bulldogs, now in its seventh year, celebrates the best of British television.
