Channel 4 Online today confirms the appointment of four multiplatform commissioning editors. Jody Smith: Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Entertainment and Comedy
Kate Quilton: Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Documentaries and Specialist Factual
Alongside these four appointments Vicky Taylor continues as Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for News and Current Affairs. The team will be led by Acting Multiplatform Commissioning Lead, Matt Locke who will oversee the recruitment process for the Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Sport.
Richard Davidson-Houston, Head of Channel 4 Online, said: "My goal is for Channel 4 Online to be the partner of choice for the UK's independent digital production sector. I've bolstered the team and simplified the structure in pursuit of that goal."
Davidson-Houston added, "I am determined that Channel 4 continues to lead the way with innovative and engaging multiplatform experiences. We now have the right people in the right roles, properly integrated with the commissioning structure. We are united creatively and very excited about the future this will bring."
Davidson-Houston was appointed Head of Channel 4 Online in August of this year with responsibility for all Channel 4's multiplatform propositions and services. Reporting to Jay Hunt, Channel 4's Chief Creative Officer, Davidson-Houston has consolidated the four existing online teams into a single department: Channel 4 Online.
Under Davidson-Houston's leadership Channel 4 Online will be fully integrated into the Content & Commissioning Division to ensure Channel 4's output is editorially aligned across all platforms.
