Channel 4 receives more RTS Awards noms than any other channel

Channel 4 has dominated this year’s RTS Programme Awards nominations list securing a total of 19 - more than any other individual channel, plus a further two for E4.

Nominees include Olivia Colman (Run) and Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary, E4) in the Female Actor category; Lennie James (Run) for best Male Actor; Educating Yorkshire for Documentary Series; My Mad Fat Diary and Utopia go head to head in the Drama Series category whilst The Last Leg and Alan Carr (Alan Carr: Chatty Man) are nominated for Entertainment and Entertainment Performance respectively.

Gogglebox and Gadget Man are both up for Popular, Factual and Features and in the Scripted Comedy section Toast of London is nominated.

Channel 4 is also represented in the Arts, History, Daytime, International, Science and Natural History, Single Documentary, Sports Presenter, Commentator or Pundit and Writer – Drama categories. 

Jay Hunt, Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer said: “The RTS nominations are a wonderful reflection of the creative success of Channel 4 and the strength of our partnerships with indies.  It’s fantastic that such a range of shows have been recognised from Utopia to the Last Leg.”
