Channel 4 receives a plethora of nominations for the MGEITF awards
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4 has been rewarded with a plethora of nominations for this year's MGEITF Arqiva Channel of the Year Awards.
Channel 4 and E4 are, once again, nominated in the Terrestrial Channel of the Year and Digital Channel of the Year categories.
Big Fat Gypsy Weddings and This is England '86 will compete with Sherlock, The Walking Dead and Human Planet for the Terrestrial Programme of the Year award while The Inbetweeners is up for Digital Programme of the Year.
This years festival will see Producer/Director and Cross Platform Innovation awards for the first time. Chris Eley has been nominated for Dispatches: City of Fear and Laura Farrie for True Stories: Battle for Barking in the Producer/Director category and The Million Pound Drop and Misfits are up against Being Human, 24 Hour Panel People and Got to Dance for the Cross Platform Innovation award.
In 2010 Channel 4 took home three of the five awards available. The main channel was named Channel of the Year, The Inbetweeners took home Digital Programme of the Year award and Misfits The Network and Fast Track Programme Award.
