Channel 4 Shorts: September Highlights 2015
Category: News ReleaseShorts are Channel 4's original short form videos available on All 4, for when you only have time for a five minute fix.
New series this month includes the lifestyles of the young, rich and (not so) famous that got lucky with the lottery; two new comedy Blaps*- one, a desert island stranding with a VERY excitable flight attendant; the second sets straight the REAL truth behind some of Hollywood’s most public break ups; and a trip to LA to see how porn players and hustlers make a very profitable – and perhaps a little dirty – living.
*Congratulations to Sam Simmons, writer and star of the recent Sam Simmons: Wallstud Blap, who won this year’s Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Full information, clips and interviews are available on request.
Young & Minted: I Won the Lottery (14th September)
This series takes a look at the lucky devils who won the lottery – and we mean big. With teenage terrors blowing thousands on holidays, hot tubs, and champagne (the expensive kind too), comedian Olivia Lee explores exactly what the spending habits are of the absolute winners.
Tattoo Fails (14th September)
Tattoo Fails is the perfect companion for Tattoo Fixers fans. Nightmare tattoos are covered up with new, bold and beautiful graphics, and we get behind the stories of the owners’ disastrous former designs, and the who’s, how’s and why’s. Expect failed flowers, botched bows, and spliff-smoking skulls.
LA Vice: Porn Stars and Hustlers (September TBC)
Based in LA, we see the hustlers and hardcore hot shots that have made money from the entertainment underworld. Manuel Ferrara and Kayden Kross, two of the biggest A-listers of the porn industry, explain what it takes to become some of the best producers in the world, and their fresh new meat into the industry also disclose what they admire about starring in porn. We also see how the Webcammer, Nightcrawler and Tee Reel get hefty profits from their start up jobs in the dark and erotic shadows of LA.
BLAPS
New to September, Blaps are the online showcase to help develop new programme ideas and discover tomorrow's comedy stars today.
Top 5 Celebrity Splits (14th September)
What was the `conscious uncoupling’ of Chris Martin and Gwynnie Paltrow? What tore the Twilight twosome of R-Patz and K-Stew asunder? And just what did Harry Styles see in Taylor Swift? We get the lowdown from the stars themselves…Except, we won't! What we DO have is a fake comedy list show that uses the countdown as a basis for a sketch show. It casts a troupe of hot young actors and comedians as the stars, and pokes fun at the famous in a warm hearted and silly way.
High and Dry (14th September)
When a plane bound for Britain crashes at sea, the survivors (featuring BBC3’s People Just Do Nothing’s Asim Chaudhry) are thrown together on a tropical island somewhere in the Pacific. How will they cope? Will they be rescued? And how will family man Douglas Jennings deal with sociopath air steward Brett Sullivan? Things get very weird…
