Channel 4's COO Anne Bulford Awarded OBE

Channel 4's Chief Operating Officer, Anne Bulford, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2012 for services to broadcasting.

Anne joined Channel 4 in 2005 as Group Finance Director and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer on 4th June 2010. She was interim Chief Executive between November 2009 and May 2010.

She has worked in the media industry, with a particular focus on television and the creative arts, for almost twenty years. Anne was a key member of the BBC and Carlton Productions finance teams and her years at the Royal Opera House helped maintain their strong financial basis. At Channel 4 Anne has faced challenging periods for both the economy and linear television and has provided stable and strong leadership of the risk and finance function.

Anne has also tirelessly donated her financial and operational expertise to numerous voluntary causes, especially the Motor Neurone Disease Association, University College London and the Teacher Awards Trust.

I am delighted Anne's passion and unswerving commitment to Public Service Broadcasting has been recognised with this honour." 

 

About Anne

Before joining Channel 4, Anne spent three years with the Royal Opera House as Director of Finance and Business Affairs, prior to which she was Finance Director at Carlton Productions.

Anne has also worked at the BBC as Finance Director of BBC Productions and Head of Internal Audit. Before joining the BBC Anne qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.

She is a lay member and Honorary Treasurer of the council of University College London, an elected Trustee of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and a Trustee of the Teacher Awards Trust.
