Channel 4's June ratings stronger without Big Brother

Channel 4 has scored stronger ratings throughout June than the same period last year, when the final series of Big Brother aired.

Channel 4's viewing figures have remained solid without the presence of Big Brother, with the main channel's share increasing by 4% in June 2011 to 7.0%.

June '11 saw a variety of programmes - from factual entertainment and drama to comedy and documentary - securing the Channel's highest ratings, compared to the same time last year, when 6 out of the 7 top-rating programmes on Channel 4 were Big Brother.

24 Hours in A&E, Embarrassing Fat Bodies, Channel 4's Comedy Gala and Camelot were amongst the wide range of Channel 4's top rating shows in June '11, all achieving audiences of over 3m.

The critically-acclaimed 24 Hours in A&E has delievered consistently  strong ratings, attracting an average of 3.1m viewers and an 11.2% share .

In total, 11 programmes achieved an audience of over 3m on Channel 4, compared with 7 programmes in June last year.

The Channel 4 portfolio has continued to thrive in June 2011 compared to the same time last year, increasing its audience share by 13% to 12.1% year on year. In terms of audience profile, Channel 4 has delivered once again; amongst 16-34s the portfolio has also shot up 12% with a 17.8% share compared to June '10, and amongst ABC1s it increased 7% with an 11.6% share.
