Q and A With Danny

What made you decide to move to New York?

The decision to move to New York was a pretty easy one.  The whole modelling thing came up because I was DJ’ing and running my own event, which at the time I was struggling with financially.  I was looking for a new adventure and after being directed to an agency (following a shoot for a DJ magazine), the whole New York thing came about pretty quickly.  My life kind of ran away with itself and things seemed to happen overnight.  One minute I was in London struggling, the next I was shooting Calvin Klein campaigns and living in the greatest city in the world.

What do you miss most from home and what are the best and worst things about living in New York?

I miss my family first and foremost, but it’s the little things like decent Fish & Chips, a good cup of tea and a traditional English pub that I miss too.  Also biscuits, you can’t really buy biscuits in New York it’s all cookies and Oreo’s, yuk!  The best thing about New York is the social side.  It’s a very social place with a lot going on all the time.  It’s also the worse thing though, my poor kidneys can’t catch break!

Tell us your top 3 highlights since landing in New York?

The whole experience has been one long highlight.  There have been a few personal moments that I hold in high regard but even the low points I wouldn’t change.  I guess hitting the Forbes list for the most successful male models, at number 4, was a great high point- although I question how they came up with that!  I’ll take it though!  It’s just the amazing people I’ve met, some of whom I’m now lucky enough to call my friends and the places that I’ve travelled to that have all been great highlights.
