Digital success for Channel 4

Category: News Release

Channel 4 took home more awards than any other broadcaster at last night’s Broadcast Digital Awards 2013.

The award for Best Entertainment Channel went to E4 which celebrated its most successful year to date at the end of 2012, with an audience share of 1.85% and 4.96% for its key 16-34 demographic. Investment in more original drama, comedy and acquisitions and introducing exciting new talent means the start of 2013 has seen record breaking success.

The broadcaster’s multiplatform content stood out from the competition and was recognised in the form of Best Multiplatform Project for The Great British Property Scandal which successfully highlighted Britain’s empty homes crisis via a dedicated website, social media and an innovative mobile app to complement the prime time TV show. Best Game was awarded for The Snowman and The Snowdog which achieved over 1 million downloads in the UK last Christmas. Foxes Live: Wild in the City was named Best App or Website for a Programme and was commended by the judges for its ‘outstanding integration of broadcast and web – both creatively and technically.’

Nashville is the highest ever rating acquisition launched on More4 and the glamorous US drama was the ‘unequivocal winner’ of Best Programme Acquisition.
