Douglas Henshall joins the cast of Home
Category: News ReleaseDouglas Henshall (Shetland, Iona, In Plain Sight) will play Elliot, John’s dad and Katy’s ex-husband in the returning Channel 4 comedy series Home, which is due to air next month on Channel 4.
Home is written by and stars Rufus Jones (W1A, Stan & Olli) and follows a Syrian refugee who ends up living with a family in Britain after sneaking into their car in Calais. Series 2 picks up six months after Sami’s interview with the Home Office in order to stay permanently in the UK.
Elliot has been absent for a few years, and when he makes a sudden reappearance into their lives no-one really expects it to go smoothly. Elliot claims to have cleaned up his act, and is still as charming as ever, but the undercurrent of chaos is still very much there. But Elliot is John’s dad, and wants to see more of his son. John is smitten, but Katy played by Rebekah Staton (Raised by Wolves, Pulling), Peter played by Rufus Jones and Sami played by Youssef Kerkour (Gavin and Stacey, Dracula). aren’t so sure.
Home will air on Wednesday 5th February at 10pm on Channel 4.

Home has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Fiona McDermott, Head of Comedy, and Laura Riseam, Commissioning Executive. The series is written by Rufus Jones, directed by David Sant, made by Jantaculum and Channel X, produced by Adam Tandy and the executive producers are Alan Marke and Jim Reid.
