E4 Acquires Lionsgate Drama “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”

E4 today announced it has acquired the joyous and celebratory drama “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” for the UK from global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B). The series is produced by Lionsgate and Universal Television in association with the Tannenbaum Company, Feigco Entertainment and Universal Music Group.
“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect), Alex Newell (Glee), John Clarence Stewart (What/If), Golden Globe® winner Peter Gallagher (The O.C.) and Oscar© winner Mary Steenburgen (The Last Man on Earth) along with special guest star Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls).
Jane Levy plays Zoey Clarke, a whip-smart computer coder forging her way in San Francisco. After an unusual event she starts to hear the innermost wants and desires of the people around her through songs. At first, she questions her own sanity but soon realizes this unwanted curse may just be an incredibly wonderful gift.

The series is written and executive produced by Austin Winsberg (Jake In Progress), alongside executive producers Paul Feig (Lionsgate’s A Simple Favor, Bridesmaids) via Feigco Entertainment, Jessie Henderson, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men) via The Tannenbaum Company, and Polygram’s David Blackman (Flatliners) and Daniel Inkeles (It’s Complicated). Emmy© award-winning Richard Shepard (Ugly Betty) directed and executive produced the pilot. Lionsgate has worldwide rights.
