E4 celebrates best ever quarter for 16-34s

E4 pulled in its highest share of 16-34s ever across the second quarter of 2012. Between April and June, the channel achieved an amazing 5.0% share amongst its target audience.

The quarter's success was helped by strong performances from new episodes of The Big Bang Theory which attracted over 1m 16-34s an episode; How I Met Your Mother and Two Broke Girls both pulled in more than twice as many younger viewers as the slot average. Desperate Housewives and Made in Chelsea also performed impressively amongst the 16-34 demographic.

The channel performed well across all three months of the quarter. April drew a 4.76% share of 16-34s, May attracted a 5.17% share making it the second biggest month for the young audience in the channel's history and June was the fifth biggest month with a 5.07% share.

E4 attracted an 8.61% share of 16-34s on Thursday 5th April, its third highest rating day for young viewers. This was driven by The Big Bang Theory Evening.

E4's previous best quarter for 16-34s was Q3 last year (4.87%).
