E4 commissions brand new series ‘The Hangover Games’ and Channel 4 re-commissions ‘How To Lose Weight Well’ from Little Gem

Some of us know the feeling. You wake up with a mouth drier than the desert, a headache that feels like a screwdriver in the skull and an instant wave of regret from the night before. Your only saving grace is attempting to sleep it off but for an unsuspecting group of young mates, this won’t be possible…

E4 has today announced The Hangover Games, a brand new gameshow with a bittersweet twist from Little Gem.

This unique and hilarious series will see presenter Matt Richardson and co-host Ken Cheng spring a surprise on hungover Brits across the country, challenging them to compete in an outrageous set of challenges, based on their antics from the night before, all for the chance of winning a cash prize.

Under the assumption they are taking part in a documentary about British night life, a group of mates will be followed by the cameras on a night out. What they won’t find out until the next morning is that they are really taking part in a brand new game show. Groggily woken up to a knock on the door from Matt early the next morning, they will learn that they have the chance to win a cash prize if they can make it out of bed and take part in The Hangover Games.

Each game will test their memories of the night before and they’ll have to rely on one another’s stamina, clear thinking, emotional stability and iron stomachs if they want to be crowned winners. Let the games begin.

Becky Cadman, E4, Factual Entertainment commissioning editor says, “We’re very excited to be working with Little Gem on this anarchic series that is sure to resonate all too well with a party loving E4 viewer and guaranteed to provide some laughs along the way.”

Kate Maddigan, Little Gem executive producer says, “We’ve met the UK’s biggest party animals filming this show and can’t wait to share the laughs, stunts and sometimes shockingly outrageous moments with the E4 audience.”

Channel 4 Features has also commissioned Little Gem for a fourth series of How To Lose Weight Well to return for a four-part series and Summer special. Dr Xand van Tulleken and café chef Stacie Stewart are joined for the first time by Dr Helen Lawal. Dr Helen, is a Yorkshire-based GP and works across both NHS and the private sectors to set up lifestyle medicine clinics and wellness centres. The Lose Weight Well team will ask ordinary Brits to road test some of the most popular and talked about diets out there and give viewers the lowdown on how these diets perform for them. The series will explore cutting edge weight-loss techniques, bizarre diet trends and the most popular weight loss products on the market.

The Hangover Games (10x30’) was commissioned by Becky Cadman and Ian Dunkley, Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editors and is executive produced by Kate Maddigan and Ben Gale from Little Gem.

How To Lose Weight Well (5x60’) was commissioned by Vivienne Molokwu for Channel 4 Features and is executive produced by Kurt Seywald and Ben Gale for Little Gem.
