Filming begins on location in South Africa for E4's Beaver Falls
Category: News Release"The key to a great summer camp is the quality of its staff. At Beaver Falls, we pride ourselves on recruiting only the finest, most morally upstanding young adults from across the globe. So you can rest easy knowing your children are in safe hands at Beaver Falls!"
E4, the 2011 Broadcast Channel of the Year and home to Bafta-winning series Misfits, Skins and The Inbetweeners, continues its commitment to bold and original home-grown drama with new series, Beaver Falls.
The 6 x 60' series is created by newcomer Iain Hollands and features a hot young cast of emerging acting talent; Samuel Robertson (River City, Coronation Street) , Arsher Ali (Four Lions, Wallander) and John Dagleish (Lark Rise to Candleford); cementing E4's reputation as the place to spot new faces and future stars.
C4 Head of Drama, Camilla Campbell says: 'Channel 4's increased investment in new drama will arrive on screen in Summer 2011 with two brand new series, Naked Apes and Beaver Falls, on C4 and E4 respectively. Irreverent and provocative comedy drama, both are set to launch a host of new and emerging talent and characters. We hope viewers will love them as much as we do.'
Best friends Flynn (Robertson), A-Rab (Ali) and Barry (Dagleish) are three ordinary British lads who met at Uni. Now freshly graduated, they're determined to have one last carefree summer of fun before facing the cold, hard realities of real life, and they're going to do it in style. Somehow, they've managed to blag themselves jobs at Beaver Falls, an elite American summer camp for the ridiculously tanned and beautiful teenage offspring of California's rich and powerful.
This is a summer job that requires them to be responsible. To set an example. To be role models to their young charges...yeah, whatever! There's no way they're going to let the job spec get in the way of their single-minded pursuit of The Ultimate Summer. Two months of hanging out, chasing girls and getting into mischief beckon for these boys, who are all set for time of their lives. But things have a habit of not quite working out the way they expect: no one mentioned that the kids they'd be looking after would be that annoying...
Directors Daniel O Hara (Skins, Being Human) and Jack Clough (Skins) take the helm, the 6 x 60' series is written by Iain Hollands, series produced by Liz Lewin and is exec produced by Charlie Pattinson and George Faber for Company Pictures. Beaver Falls is currently being filmed on location in South Africa for TX on E4 in summer 2011.
