First look photo from comedy by royal appointment The Windsors
Category: News Release
Here’s your first look at the royal family as you’ve never seen them before. Well, actually, seeing as they’re all in military finery and posing for a photo, that’s exactly how you’ve always seen them. Except, well, they might look a little different. This is The Windsors, Channel 4-style.
On Friday 6th May, at 10pm, comedic royalty Harry Enfield will be crowned as HRH Prince Charles with Haydn Gwynne (Drop the Dead Donkey) as Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall. Hugh Skinner (W1A) is heralded as Prince ‘Wills’ William, Duke of Cambridge with Louise Ford (Crashing) his Queen consort-in-waiting, ‘Kate’, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Morgana Robinson (The Morgana Show) will star as Kate’s sister, Pippa and Richard Goulding (Fresh Meat) takes his place fifth in line to the throne as Prince Harry. Ellie White (House of Fools) and Celeste Dring (Josh) are pronounced as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, while Katy Wix (Miranda) and Tim Wallers (You, Me & The Apocalypse) will command the duty of their doting parents Fergie and Prince Andrew, with Matthew Cottle (Man Down) decreed as Prince Edward.
Written by the co-creators of “Star Stories”, Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie, The Windsors will put our beloved Royal Family into the comedy spotlight. The series is a wry take on what the soap opera of their lives (and loves) might just be like. Delving behind the headlines and gossip columns, The Windsors lets our imaginations run riot in this ludicrous parody.
