Freeform Productions to make A Place In The Sun spin-off Jasmine’s Renovation In The Sun for Channel 4.

For twenty years, Jasmine Harman has been helping British families find their perfect home from home in A Place In The Sun. Now, Jasmine and husband Jon, are making their own dreams of ‘Jasmine’s Renovation In the Sun’ come true, followed by the cameras for a new 15-part series from Freeform Productions. 

Together with their two young children, the family are taking the plunge to purchase and renovate a rundown Spanish Villa.  Over the course of the year, the series will follow the highs and lows of the family’s renovation project as they attempt to turn the dilapidated villa into their perfect family home. 

Jasmine and Jon will learn from the locals, visiting other renovated Spanish properties for inspiration and advice. Planning to do a lot of the building and renovation work themselves, they will also have to master new skills such as plastering and tiling, as well as navigating local bureaucracy and a different pace of life. 

The series will give an insight into the work that goes into making their dream come true as they juggle the demands of a renovation, busy jobs, young kids, making friends, and building a life for themselves in Spain. 

Jasmine Harman said, “Moving abroad has been completely different to what I expected and dreamed of. I never wanted to take on a renovation project but somehow, we fell in love with this house. I’ve seen it so many times with my own house hunters - sometimes it just feels right.”

She added, “Moving house can be stressful at the best of times. But, changing country renovating a property, raising our family – all the while having a TV crew following you around, is next level! All the same, we feel like this is the best move for our family and we’re so excited to get started.”
