Fresh Meat wins best TV show at the NME awards

Category: News Release

Fresh Meat, the frankly awesome comedy from the pens (they don’t know how to work laptops) of Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, was named Best TV Show at the NME awards last night. The awards, voted for by NME readers, were held at the Troxy in East London, and featured lots of trendy people with beards (when did THEY come back in?) who are in bands I’ve never heard of.

The award represents the, like, kerjillionth gong the show has won. The category was presented by Alexandra Roach and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett of drama Utopia, proving scientifically once and for all beyond all conceivable doubt that Channel 4 is officially the hippest broadcaster in the history of everything.

In another thrilling aspect to the evening’s goings on, Channel 4 Press Officer Alexandra Wells passed Brandon Flowers on a staircase. He said to her “I like your t-shirt,” (as she has now informed every colleague, person in her address book, and passer-by) before going on to say “I like your face.” Unfortunately, this last bit only happened in her head.
