‘Glucose Goddess’ Jessie Inchauspé to test the science of glucose in new Channel 4 series

Category: News Release

The new series from South Shore will explore if contributors feel better by monitoring and managing their blood sugar levels.

French biochemist Jessie Inchauspé aka The Glucose Goddess has taken the world by storm with over 4.5m followers online and two international, #1 bestselling books that translate complex science into easy-to-follow tips to help people improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Jessie believes that diets don’t work, and in a new series for Channel 4 wants to test a group of people from around Britain to log how changes in their blood glucose levels affect their wellbeing. Whether you’re struggling with cravings, battling type 2 diabetes, dealing with acne or simply want to improve your overall health Jessie believes the answers lie in controlling your glucose spikes.

Every contributor will be monitored to see how their diet is affecting their health. After analysing the data, Jessie, who will be assisted by the host of The Doctors Kitchen podcast, Dr Rupy Aujla, will teach contributors about her “glucose hacks” to potentially transform their wellbeing without counting calories.

Jessie Inchauspé comments: “It’s a huge honour to be making this series with South Shore and Channel 4. I hope our viewers take away practical food tips, learn that many conditions improve with better diet, and that the show will contribute to pushing for change in the food industry.”

The 2 x 60 special is a South Shore format, executive produced by Melanie Leach, joint CEO of South Shore and Sam Grace, Head of South Shore Wales. The series has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor for Lifestyle, and Jo Street, Head of Lifestyle.

Channel 4’s Clemency Green comments: “Jessie is brilliant at debunking the jargon and clearly explaining the facts behind the fad. I am delighted to be working with her and South Shore to make a show that can help us all make better choices when choosing what to eat”.

South Shore’s Melanie Leach adds: “Since meeting Jessie last year I have become obsessed with apple cider vinegar and clothing my carbs. Her easy-to-follow hacks and tips aren’t a diet, they’re a new way of life.”

The Glucose Goddess (w/t) is currently in pre-production and will TX on Channel 4.
