Hannah Murray, Jack O'Connell and Kaya Scodelario return to Skins

Category: News Release

E4 and Company Pictures announce the return of its multi-award winning teen drama Skins for a new series. Series seven will mark a departure in style with former stars Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones), Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) and Kaya Scodelario (Wuthering Heights) returning to the roles which shaped their careers in three individual stories, each broadcast in two, one hour parts.
The three stories will have distinct titles: Skins Pure (Cassie), Skins Rise (Cook) and Skins Fire (Effy). Lily Loveless (Naomi) and Kat Prescott (Emily) will also appear in guest roles.  Written by series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain with Jess Brittain, Season 7 goes into new territory; more adult, more uncompromising. Each two part story centres on the characters now in their early twenties, the party's over and they're starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times.
Bryan Elsley, co-creator said; "I am delighted that three emblematic actors, currently embarking on successful movie careers are returning to E4 and Skins. They will play their iconic characters as they emerge into adulthood, and bring new challenging stories of young adults, grappling with life in Cameron's Britain, to vivid and entertaining focus."

Sophie Gardiner, Commissioning Editor of Channel 4 Drama added; "Always innovative, always truthful, Skins is a show that defined a generation.  That generation is growing up.  Skins seven catches up with our characters as they continue in their path to adulthood, finding out who they are going to be, and who their friends really are.  The new direction that Bryan and Jamie have taken Skins will thrill and entertain fans as they negotiate the surprises that life throws at you when you're just starting out.  I can't wait to see some of Skins' most loved and memorable characters back on E4."

Executive producers are Bryan Elsley, Charlie Pattinson and Matt Jones, with Chris Clough as Producer.  Directors are Paul Gay, Jack Clough and Charles Martin.

Skins is made by Company Pictures and Stormdog Films for E4.
