Interview with Harry Connor (Aaron)

What’s it been like returning for series two?
It’s been amazing. So lovely to be back with all the cast again after two years. It’s been a lot of fun to come back here again with everyone and discovering what Oli and Dillon have in store for the Lewis family.

Are there any scenes that really stood out to you in the script and you are looking forward to seeing on screen?
In one scene, Aaron and David break into Samson’s house pretending to be parcel workers in these awful orange tracksuits! The house is very eccentric and basically a huge shrine to Samson - it even has a pool!

Where do we find your character at the beginning of this series?
We find Aaron after he’s been baptised and he’s trying to help Andrew find himself again. Although he still believes in the church, he realises that Elder Samson is quite homophobic, defrauding everyone and is stuck in the past. Aaron wants to change the church to bring it into the modern day and wants to stage a coup to overthrow Samson.

How do you feel your character has changed?
Aaron has changed a lot since the last series. During this series, he grows up. I think he matures a lot. He is a lot happier with who he is and his place in the family. He is a lot more confident in dealing with his dad and can stand up to Samson. He also channels his anger and his talent for good!

What’s it been like to work with the director Jamie?
Jamie is amazing. He’s a talented director and has brought lots to the show. He is also a lot of fun to work with and was always in stitches laughing at all the scenes. He is also a lovely person!
