Homeland wins six Emmys

Woo hoo!

Channel 4's wee-inducingly-tense American thriller Homeland has won six - SIX! - awards at the 64th Emmy Awards.

And these weren't your common or garden "Best sandwiches served on set" awards either. Oh no. The show won the biggies - Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

The other two gongs were won last weekend, at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. They were for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, and (the Emmy that everyone talks about...) Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series.

Now would probably be a good time to mention that series 2 of Homeland will be on Channel 4 on Sunday 11th October - just a few short weeks away. Plastic pants at the ready then - apparently this series is even more intense than the last. Yikes!
