Carl was previously at the BBC where he was Senior Programme Editor having started there in 1990. During his time at the BBC, he edited many major sporting events including the three Olympic Games (including London 2012), two Paralympic Games, two Winter Olympic Games and four Commonwealth Games.
He was the corporation’s racing Editor from 1997-2007, in charge of nine Grand Nationals, eight Royal Ascots and six Derby festivals as well as Glorious Goodwood, the Prix De L’Arc and the King George.
Denise Large: Programme Director (IMG)
Denise began her career at ITV, working on a wide range of programmes including Live Events, Drama, News and Sports. In 1995, Denise became a freelance vision mixer, going on to work on Sky’s Premier League football coverage, Channel 4’s Big Breakfast and Hat Trick’s Have I Got News For You.
In 1997, Denise became Main Director for all of Channel 4’s racing output while also directing programmes for RTE (Punchestown Festival), BBC (British Three Day Event Championships and Burghley Horse Trials) and elsewhere for Channel 4 on their coverage of the European Indoor Athletics Championships. Denise has also produced the Morning Line.
Denise directed the 1998 Derby which went on to win a BAFTA for Best Live Outside Broadcast. She has also received a number of RTS awards and nominations.
Sophie Veats: Morning Line Producer (IMG)
Sophie starter her career at Cheerleader Productions where she worked on a range of Channel 4 sports output including the much praised Sumo Wrestling Programme. During a multi-award winning career, Sophie’s love of horses has been evident in her work on the Burghley Horse Trials (BBC), World Cup Dressage (Sky) and Olympia Show Jumping (Eurosport).
Prior to joining IMG, Sophie free-lanced on Channel 4 Racing as Senior Features Producer for eight years. In 2011, she took over and re-launched the Morning Line, introducing new and exciting features as well as developing new talent.
Jamie Aitchison: Commissioning Editor, Sport (C4)
Jamie worked for ITV Sport for 10 years, producing live UEFA Champions League football, FIFA World Cup coverage, UEFA European Football Championships and Rugby World Cups amongst other sports. He then worked for a number of broadcasters and independent production companies where he continued to develop and expand his sporting expertise.
March 2011 saw Jamie join Channel 4 as Sports Editor taking responsibility for the channel’s sporting remit that includes an annual horseracing schedule, the BAFTA winning coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, NFL output and an array of other sporting shows.
