The Inbetweeners 2 score the biggest opening weekend of 2014

They may have gone travelling down under, but Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Neil (Blake Harrison) are on top of the charts as The Inbetweeners 2 film goes straight in at number 1 on the UK box office charts.

The film, which sees the four boys reunited on a lads holiday to Australia, scored the UK’s biggest opening weekend box office of 2014, grossing £12.5 million. This follows its record breaking first day, 6th August, which saw it receive the biggest ever opening day for a comedy at the UK box office, with £2.75 million.

The Inbetweeners 2 is written and directed by series creators, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, and produced by Spencer Millman (“The Mighty Boosh”, “Man Down”).

The film is produced by Bwark Productions, a Zodiak Media company, and co-financed with Film4. Entertainment Film Distributors are distributing the film in the UK & Ireland.
