Interview with Karisha, Creme De La Cakes
Category: News Release
Can you tell me a little about how you spend your time before you created cakes?
I studied events management at University and then went on to work in a few marketing jobs. I wanted to be a wedding planner but then just realised it wasn't for me.
How did you get into cake making?
I would bake cakes at university (the cakes were ugly!) I graduated and made cakes for family and friends, just kept practicing, practicing and finally got better.
What inspires you?
Everything... Clothes, jewellery, art and buildings.
Tell us about some recent commissions.
I absolutely loved making the water fountain cake, it was a proud moment to do something different, for the Shard. The carousel cake which was taller than me! Also, making a cake for the princess of Dubai.
What’s the next big project for you?
To create something completely out of the ordinary and something I haven't seen done before.
Cakes continue to be at the centre of celebrations. Why do you think they are so magical?
Everyone loves cake and most importantly it brings everyone together for their own personal and special celebration.
Extreme Cake Makers S2 will air on Channel 4 in early 2018
