Jack Whitehall and dad Michael to take on The Million Pound Drop Live

Category: News Release

Joining the latest batch of contestants this Saturday, Jack Whitehall and his theatrical agent father Michael will play The Million Pound Drop Live in the hopes of winning big for their chosen charities.

Hosted by Davina McCall, The Million Pound Drop Live sees contestants given £1million in cash at the top of the show - but they must try to keep hold of it over eight tough questions. The show's white knuckle tension is played out on a fiendish device with four trapdoors, on which the answers to each question are displayed.

Contestants can place all their money on one answer or spread the risk, but if their money is on the wrong answer, it will be lost forever. One wrong move could literally see thousands of pounds drop through the floor.

Already this series we have seen Vernon Kay and his best mate Luke get beaten by ‘The Drop' when they crashed out on question 6. Will Jack and Michael fare any better? Only eight questions stand between them and this staggering amount of cash. If they're brave and smart they stand to win their charities a fortune. The question is how much can they keep hold of?

Viewers at home will have the opportunity to play alongside the contestants with a virtual million pounds with the hugely successful play along online game. And this series, playing online could even get them on the real show. The only way to apply to get on the show this series is by playing along in the online game. Whether you win or lose your virtual million, you could find yourself whisked to the studio alongside Davina to play the game for real within days of playing the game online.

The series was ordered by entertainment commissioner Syeda Irtizaali and will be executive produced by David Flynn and Tom Blakeson. Michelle Woods is series producer.
