Jack Whitehall hits the road With C4

Category: News Release

Stand-up sensation Jack Whitehall is set to star in his first prime time role, headlining his own brand-new entertainment series on Channel 4 this year with the working title Hit The Road, Jack (6 x 30) .

In Hit the Road, Jack (WT), Whitehall packs his bags and goes on a comedy tour of the country to find the best that Britain has to offer, joined along the way by celebrities and comedians who hail from each week's featured city. He arrives knowing no-one and without a place to lay his head, and so his first task is to find a random stranger willing to return to their home with Jack in tow. Thereafter he documents his experiences and the week reaches its climax in a high-octane show performed in a local venue temporarily transformed into an iconic studio.

Entertainment Commissioning Editor Syeda Irtizaali said: "At only 23 years old Jack has already been entertaining Channel 4 viewers for years and this move to primetime with his own show is something for us all to celebrate. This new show will bring his razor-sharp brand of comedy to different places around the country with plenty of stunts, celebrity guests and fun with the locals. It's going to be a modern, irreverent snapshot of Britain from one of our rising stars."

Andy Auerbach, Exec Producer and joint MD of Magnum Media, says: "It's very exciting for us to be working with Jack. He is incredibly funny, totally charming and, I'm told, rather good looking - the perfect package."

Hit the Road, Jack (WT) is a Magnum production, executive produced by Andy Auerbach and Dean Nabarro and ordered by Syeda Irtizaali, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment.
