James Walker appointed Channel 4 Head of Marketing

Channel 4's Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Dan Brooke, today confirmed the appointment of James Walker as Head of Marketing, Channel 4. 

James, who currently holds the role in an acting capacity and was previously deputy head, replaces Sarah Owen who has decided to relocate to the north of England.  He joined Channel 4 marketing in 2007, and prior to that was a business director at its in-house creative agency 4creative. Previously he had worked at advertising agencies Y&R, BMP DDB and DFGW.

The role oversees all on and off air marketing for the organisation's network of channels and new media services and is responsible for the marketing, media planning and Channel 4 announcer teams.

In his role as acting Head of Marketing, James led the acclaimed Paralympics marketing campaigns ‘Meet the Superhumans' and ‘Thanks for the Warm Up'. 

Announcing James's appointment, Dan Brooke said: "James has done such a cracking job as acting Head of Marketing that it been the easiest of decisions to actually make him top dog. We're lucky to have such an experienced home-grown talent to take up this vital role."
