Jamie and Jimmy get ready for their Food Fight Club
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4 has commissioned an exciting new food show that brings together two of its most popular foodies - and old school chums - Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty. The two Essex-natives are together for the first time in a series which will entertain and amaze: Jamie and Jimmy's Food Fight Club.
The two old childhood friends take over a seaside café that hasn't changed much since they spent time there in the 80s. They'll bring together friends, locals and special guests for a food fight where anything goes.
And in each episode Jamie and Jimmy take their food fight out on the road, travelling abroad to take on big food challenges and see how their own - and others' - culinary creations measure up against the best of the rest of the world.
Mischievous, irreverent and with all the amazing food knowledge and banter you would expect from these passionate Essex lads, this series will prove that good food is worth fighting for. Let battle commence...
Jamie and Jimmy's Food Fight Club was commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Factual Entertainment Liam Humphreys and Commissioning Editor Rich Evans and will air on Channel 4 later this year. The 4x60 series is a Fresh One production executive produced by Dermot Caulfield and Zoe Collins and series produced by Suzy Ratner.
Jamie said: "Jimmy and I have been mates for as long as I can remember and so it's brilliant to be making a series with him. We've got up to a load of mischief already on the road in Europe, and now we're taking it back to good old Essex."
Jimmy said: "I'm so chuffed to be back working with my oldest mate on Food Fight Club. We're out to show Great Britain and the world just how good our food has become. And it's going to be so much fun. It's a real celebration of all that's great about British food. Bring it on!"
