Jane Fletcher promoted to Controller of Press and Publicity
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4 today announced the promotion of Jane Fletcher to Controller of Press and Publicity.
Reporting to Dan Brooke, Channel 4's Director of Marketing and Communications, Fletcher will manage a communications team of 30, responsible for all the organisation's external media activity.
Working across Channel 4 content, services and channels, Fletcher will lead the corporate and commercial press functions, consumer publicity team and picture publicity team. She is also responsible for recruiting and managing external PR agencies and freelancers.
Jane Fletcher joined Channel 4 as Head of Press in March 2009, after a decade working in television communications. Since August 2010 Jane has been Acting Controller of Press and Publicity and today's announcement confirms her permanent promotion to the role after an external recruitment process.
Immediately prior to joining Channel 4 Jane spent a year as a development producer at award winning independent production company Two Four. Previously she held roles as Head of Communications for BBC One, Drama and BBC Film; BBC Two and was launch press manager for BBC Three in 2003.
Jane started her career as a researcher and commissioner on the Features desk of the Daily Mail; she has also worked as a non fiction book publicist for Thames & Hudson.
