Jay Hunt announces new Channel 4 programmes at MGEITF
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4's Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt, today announced a trio of new commissions, featuring Jimmy Doherty's first project for the Channel and the first comedy about the phone-hacking scandal.
In brand new series Can You Afford to Care? Jimmy Doherty sets out to explore why ‘ethical' food is so expensive and come up with radical and innovative new ideas to produce cheaper alternatives for the masses.
In each episode, Jimmy will attempt to produce a cheap ethical alternative to a mass-market meat product. He will have to explore how the mass-produced product is made, come up with an innovative idea for his own cheaper version, and finally try to convince supermarkets to stock it and shoppers to buy and eat it.
With food prices on the rise and consumers feeling the pinch across the UK, can shoppers really still afford to care about where the food they put on the table comes from? The three-part series is due to TX in 2012.
