The Last Leg returns to Channel 4 for a 14th series
Category: News Release
The 2017 and 2018 BAFTA nominated entertainment series, The Last Leg is back on Channel 4 this June for an incredible 14th series. Returning to our screens on Friday nights, the nine episode series sees Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker reunite with their honest, upbeat and award-winning brand of satirical comedy.
As ever, the hashtag #isitok will pave the way for the gang to round up, examine and explain the leading and most entertaining news stories via their acerbic wit, enlightening discussions and unique sketches. Each week, a live audience and big named guests from the worlds of comedy, entertainment and politics will join them to help dissect the week’s events and talking points.
With 13 critically-acclaimed series under their belts, Adam, Josh and Alex themselves have been praised for their reaction and topical coverage of the weeks most harrowing of news stories, as well as their ability to open up the conversations surrounding disability through their coverage of the Paralympic Games and beyond.
The last few years have seen the show go from strength-to-strength as they assess the news and worldwide events with their own inimitable insight, including the most recent US Election, the snap General Election in 2017 and 2016’s Brexit Referendum. They’ve also returned to their roots covering the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeong Chang.
The show has earned several award nominations including double nominations at the esteemed BAFTAs in 2017 and 2018 for Comedy Entertainment Programme and Entertainment Performance for Adam. Adam, Josh and Alex were rewarded with the Royal Television Society Award for Best Entertainment in both 2018, 2017 and 2015. Other awards include Best Entertainment Programme at 2017’s Creative Diversity Network Awards, a nomination for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2017 National Television Awards and Adam won Best Breakthrough Award at the 2013 British Comedy Awards, where he was also nominated for Best Entertainment Personality.
