This stylish, smart and provocative new 12-part drama set in the 1950s chronicles the relationship of the couple that risked everything and gave birth to the sexual revolution while struggling with their own clashes of success, betrayal and jealousies.

Masters of Sex features Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon, The Twilight Saga, The Queen) and Lizzy Caplan (New Girl, True Blood) as the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson.

The series will document  their unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory, which saw them go from a Midwestern teaching hospital to the cover of Time magazine and Johnny Carson’s couch.

With a powerful ensemble cast headed by Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, Masters of Sex also stars Caitlin FitzGerald (Gossip Girl), Nicholas D’Agosto (The Office, Heroes), Beau Bridges (Brothers & Sisters), Margo Martindale (Justified, Dexter) and Teddy Sears (American Horror Story). 

The show is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book, Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How to Love.
