Julie lives with her sister Jade, they have all the same friends and they even get stopped in the street asking if they’re twins. She would love to do this experience on her own to prove that she is just as strong on her own. Julie has been single for 4 years with her mum constantly on her back that she needs to find a boyfriend, settle down and buy a house. Julie is the wild one out of her and her sister and never turns down a party! She loves travelling and once quit her job to go on a spontaneous holiday. Julie’s family are Vietnamese and her nan in particular has very traditional views about men and women’s roles. Her nan thinks that women should be in the kitchen and do the cleaning and would freak out if she knew what Julie and her sister get up to. Julie works in fashion and would love to start a fashion brand with her sister.
Why have you signed up for a show that you know nothing about?
I think that's what adds more excitement to it, it's an adventure and I’m always up for a good adventure. I'm on furlough at the minute – I’m a junior fashion designer for a High Street brand – so this has come at the perfect time.
Have you got any idea what it is you might be doing?
I think we're going to be doing tasks, but I don't know. At the same time, I don't want to think too much about it because it could be something completely different. Anything to do with water scares me because I'm not the best of swimmers.
Are you quite a headstrong person, could you cause a bit of drama?
No, I don't like drama and I don't like arguing – I'm more like a peacemaker. I just think if there's no reason to argue, then I won't argue. If it's just something petty I wouldn't drag it on, or I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.
How ruthless are you prepared to be to make sure you get your hands on the cash?
This is the thing. Usually I'm quite laid back and chilled about everything but now there's money at stake, I feel like I need to push myself a bit more.
