Category: News Release

This year’s British Comedy Awards return to Channel 4 for a LIVE broadcast at 9pm on Thursday, 12th December.  Host Jonathan Ross will oversee the raucous event, where the cream of British comedy will converge to celebrate the funniest programmes and personalities of the year.

Meanwhile, The Last Leg and its host Adam Hills has leapt to the fore with three nominations, a feat it shares with NHS sitcom Getting On ,whose stars Jo Brand and Vicki Pepperdine have both received award nods.  Bake Off punsters Mel and Sue are also jointly up for Best Female TV Comics while Horrible Histories battles the likes of Psychobitches in the Best Sketch Show category. And of course, Graham and Alan, the titans of the chat show, will clash in formidable style in the Best Comedy Entertainment Programme category.

There will also be THREE special awards given out on the night; The British Comedy Outstanding Achievement Award, The Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Award and the award for International Achievement.

Keep an eye out for the winner of the Best New Comedy Programme which will be revealed at The British Comedy Awards Nomination Show on Ch 4, Wednesday, 4th December at 10.45pm.
