Typical knockabout jollity from those Seattle scamps in The Killing (seriously, would a smile hurt?)

 

 

G'day.

This is the first, er, ‘weekly' round-up for about three weeks. But, to be honest, we had a bit of a lull on the site. It was a bit like an Andy Warhol film, or a date back in my courting days: Absolutely nothing happened.

And then last week, we had the day that will go down in history as "Busier than Normal Thursday". It all kicked off. We added nine news stories, some extra programme information, and a press pack. It was all frightfully exciting and a little scary, and most of the time I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Much like a date back in my courting days.

Anyway, here's what you may have missed.

News:
It was all good news last week on the site. To be honest, we don't put up the bad news - we'd be a pretty weird press website if we started posting releases saying "Channel 4 completely misses out on a clutch of awards". Not that such things ever happen. By way of illustration, we've had two programmes nominated for the prestigious BAFTA YouTube Audience Award: Educating Essex and Fresh Meat. Meanwhile, 2 Broke Girls enjoyed the best launch on E4 since Glee, much to our undisguised... well, you know...We also launched an interactive event, Foxes Live: Wild in the City, and created some new multiplatform drama concepts. Whatever that means.

New commissions:
We have announced new commissions for the brilliant feature-length docs strand True Stories; a fab new drama Utopia; and some original and exciting concepts The House the 50s Built and The Audience. Bosh, have some of that!

Press Packs:
We also had the small matter of publishing the spring/summer press pack, featuring some of the best programming of the coming months (and indeed ever). And we've bunged up a press pack for nail-biting thriller The Killing, season two of which arrives in a blaze of
bright sunshine, happy music and carefree cheerfulness from 2nd May.

Video and interview:
We enjoyed an exclusive preview of Adele's new single. (Legal reasons require me to point out that this is not her latest single. Nor, indeed, is it Adele.) It's a brilliant sketch from Very Important People, the stars of which we interviewed too.
