Beardie and Loopytunes kick back and sunbathe during a British Bank Holiday

 

Today, we are feeling somewhat bereft. The long weekend is over, and all we have to look forward are fifty more days of this endless winter, before the sun comes out for ten minutes, softens the top few millimetres of the six-mile-thick permafrost over the UK, before the miserable descent into winter starts again.

Even worse, Homeland is over. NIGHTMARE! I have to say, I never expected Brad Pitt to rock up in the last episode. And what about that cameo from Beyonce as the president? I thought the whole spaceship thing was a bit far-fetched though. (Fret not, if you haven't seen it yet, none of this actually happened. But Carrie did get eaten by rabid guinea pigs).

Fortunately, it's not all doom and gloom. Because we've got series 2 of Homeland, woo hoo! And we're so excited about it, we're going to screen it all tomorrow... Oh, hang on... no, apparently we're not, on account of it not having been made yet. Shake a leg, Damo, there's a good chap...

 

News:

In other news, we posted our monthly 4oD report for March, boasting an impressive 43 million views, making it the most successful month since, er, February. Fresh Meat won yet another award, yada, yada, yada, this time from that nice Mr Bragg.

Meanwhile, the Wenger boy is coming* - that's Piers Wenger to you, and he's coming to be C4's Head of Drama.

We also announced our support for a scheme called Business in You which, er, does something. And we were delighted to inform you that we'd done something or other to do with offering producer placements, too. Look, you want more than that, click on the flippin' links, we ain't no encyclopaedia, capice?

 

New commissions:

We've got series 2 of Homeland. Woo hoo! We know we've already said that, but we figured it was good enough to say it twice. In fact: We've got series 2 of Homeland! Woo hoo!

And we've also commissioned a second series of the brilliant, moving, funny and fascinating The Undateables. And we've got series 2 of Homela...[shut up now - Ed]

That nice Mr Wan spoke to us (he called us ‘darling' a lot, which made us feel spesh!) about his mouth-watering new series Gok Cooks Chinese. And we also put up an interview with Prof Brendan Walker that took a fascinating look at the 1950s, and how it shaped, and continues to shape, our lives today.
