James Atherton plays Will Savage in Hollyoaks. Ahead of his major storyline in week 29, he submits himself to our brutal grilling, all in the name of publicity!

Who do you play? Will Savage

 

How would you describe the character you play?

Well... he started out as a bit of a recluse really our Will. You might of found him reading Dumas in the quiet of a broom cupboard or fixing his glasses after suffering a generous and profuse nosebleed at the hands of his domineering elder brother... however Will has recently come out of his shell found Girls, Rugby, and friends and is far happier for it. However he still bolsters his Brains and grasps at the Geek whenever he gets a quiet moment.

 

Are you anything like them in real life?

Not Really. I like the fact I am so different from my character it means it is always exciting to come in and play.

 

If you could play any other character, who would you choose, and why?

Carmel.... She has great personalities!

 

How long have you been in Hollyoaks?

A year-and-a-half

 

What's been your favourite scene to shoot in Hollyoaks?

Kissing Jorgie Porter wasn't bad.... I guess!!!

 

And you're worst?

Kissing Joe Tracini..... it wasn't even scripted! Come on man!!!

 

What would be your ideal storyline for your character?  

I think he should become a spy for His Majesties Secret Service. Will Savage... Savage by name Savage by reputation.

 

Who is the hottest cast member?

Joe Tracini... he's always sweating.

 

Have you ever given anyone a Hollyoaks calendar as a present?

Yeah my mate Oz he loves the show....... said he would have preferred a girls one though.

 

Do you ever use your job to jump queues for bars, clubs etc? 

No!!! Queue jumping should strictly only be used in the canteen using the art of cutsies first learnt in my informative years of 6-11!!!

 

Do you ever get sent any weird fan mail?

Only to myself.

 

Who's your best mate in the cast?

Marathon Man Tom Scurr and Worlds sexiest flatmate Danny Mac.

 

Who's the worst in the cast for inappropriate laughter?

Jorgie Porter!!!!! She is a naughty corpser!!!

 

Who's the worst for forgetting lines?

I don't know... Does that mean it's me?

 

What's the best thing about being in Hollyoaks?

The people involved the cast and everyone behind the scenes. It's a really cool place to work and everyone is real friendly.
