Richard Brent appointed as Channel Manager, C4

Channel 4 has announced the appointment of Richard Brent as Channel Manager, Channel 4.

Commenting on his appointment, David Abraham, Channel 4's Chief Executive, said:

"Richard has a strong track record in dynamic and effective scheduling, and we are delighted that he will be joining our team of Channel Managers, to bring his expertise to the core channel."

Richard Brent added:

As Channel Manager, C4 Richard will be responsible for coordinating Channel 4's programming activities and scheduling the optimal programme mix.

Brent will report into Controller of Channel Management, George Dixon and will work alongside Paul Mortimer, Channel Manager for E4 and More4, and Julia Wrigley, Channel Manager for Film4.

Richard Brent has been Head of Scheduling and Planning at Five since 2007. In this role he was responsible for overseeing and scheduling Five, Five HD, Fiver and Five USA to deliver competitive, commercially effective and complementary schedules.

Prior to this, Brent was Head of Planning and Scheduling for BBC Daytime and Early Peak between 2006 and 2007, and BBC One Schedule Manager between 2006 and 2004. Before moving into scheduling, Brent worked in audience research, holding positions at both the BBC and Carlton.
